HTP 23: Jerry Gille - Rockford Speedway and NASCAR 2008 Illinois State Champion

We travel down to Rockford, Illinois to visit with Jerry Gille, the Rockford Speedway Late Model Champion and Illinois NASCAR State Championship winner for 2008. We sit on stacks of racing tires in Gille's race shop, as the ceiling lights buzz and the furnace runs on a cold night in November. Keeping it real, and talking racing. The 2008 championships, going to the NASCAR awards banquet in Las Vegas, Jerry's family involvement and dedication to racing, the ASA years, "blow-over" at Cedar Rapids, Chad Knaus, John Knaus, the Bilderbacks, Bobby Wilberg, Joe Shear,
Johnny "Z" Ziegler, Dick Trickle, following the 7 race/week Wisconsin tour, Angell Park, vintage racing and Red's Tavern are just some of the topics discussed.
Like Lugnut and Barney, Jerry Gille loves the history of all auto racing. (71min 9sec)

This episode is the last day of a 4 day event, 2nd of 2 episodes. Lugnut and Barney break camp and head to the racetrack. They checkout the famous Sunday morning pancake feed, and get in some great racing action. A track where many present day NASCAR drivers and crew members honed their skills. (16m39s)
